The Maison Renaud Tixier roadmap unfolds in seven stages, each dedicated to the essence of watchmaking. Each stage will correspond to an original creation, built around an invention aimed at improving or perfecting an existing mechanism.
This guideline is expressed through the seven days of the week, a familiar and universal reference point. Beginning quite logically with Monday, the first day of the working week.
Monday
One quest, multiple expressions
Inaugurating this trajectory, Monday answers a central question: that of energy, rethought at its very source.
For Maison Renaud Tixier it all began with the micro-rotor: a small and elegant component that preserves the thinness of the movement while revealing its architecture. Yet its low inertia creates an inherent obstacle: generating sufficient power demands wide, sustained swings that are constantly interrupted by the erratic motion of the wearer’s wrist. Each brief gesture, each change of direction, each shock can interrupt its momentum. Whereas these movements were previously considered losses, Calibre RVI2023 converts them into a resource.
This reflection gave rise to a patented device that reinvents the very principle of micro-rotor winding. At the centre of the rotor, which remains empty, lies an inertia flywheel combined with a propulsion spring, nicknamed “the dancer”. This component captures the energy generated by wrist movements, particularly during sudden changes in direction, stores it and then releases it to the mechanism to prolong and optimise energy.
This structure does not simply improve energy efficiency: it also integrates a disengagement system that protects the movement in the event of impacts. A constraint thus becomes a resource and an element usually considered wasted space becomes the heart of a new architecture.
