Neoclassical aesthetics
The technical narrative of the Monday is rooted in classical restraint. Its elegant, disciplined and refined design draws from neoclassical architecture, echoing its clean, timeless lines. This aesthetic language thus gives full prominence to essentials: the art of watchmaking, movement mastery and the innovation at its core.
The movement
At the heart of the Monday, Calibre RVI2023 reinvents the micro-rotor automatic winding system. Its architecture integrates a mainspring, “the dancer”, combined with a flywheel, which optimises the recovery of energy produced by wrist movements.
The “dancer” stores this energy and releases it back to the mechanism, thereby improving winding efficiency. It also plays a protective role: in the event of a shock, its disengagement system absorbs the impact before returning to its initial position.
Designed specifically around this invention, the RVI2023 combines contemporary architecture with a construction entirely dedicated to the performance of the micro-rotor. Its design also makes the mechanics fully visible, notably the decorated ratchet-wheel bridge featuring engraving and Grand Feu enamelling, the Monday’s aesthetic signature.
The finishes set the tone: the performance is contemporary and every detail is an ode to perfection.
The materials
Crafted in 18K white gold, the 40.8 mm case of the Monday balances ergonomic wearability with quiet elegance. Beneath the sapphire crystal, the movement’s architecture is placed on full display, an invitation to examine it in detail. A petrol blue dial pairs frosted and sunburst finishes, achieving an effortless dialogue between texture, light and visual clarity.
On the wrist, a hand-sewn navy blue calfskin strap is enhanced with tone-on-tone topstitching and fastened with a pin buckle matching the case. Nothing is superfluous: every material is chosen to serve the timepiece, never simply to adorn it.
The sides of the case are entirely hand-engraved. Each touch shapes a subtle relief that catches the light and reveals new nuances in the gold. A tactile and contemporary finish, where manual precision is dedicated to expressing the material.
