A dial conceived as an organic landscape

The dial of the Monday Organica weaves an intimate dialogue between artistry and mechanical precision. While its lavish, organic motifs evoke the vitality of the natural world, their geometry is rooted deep within the movement itself: its flowing contours directly echoing the profiles of three foundational components in Calibre RVI2023. The decorative surface becomes an alternative blueprint of the movement, setting up a dynamic counterpoint where sculpted metal and horological architecture converse but never merge.

Crafted by a master dial-maker, each dial requires 112 hours of work and employs some of the rarest techniques. Hand-engraving on multiple levels, Grand Feu enamelling and texture effects shape a multi-layered visual terrain, like a miniature landscape whose every relief progressively reveals its richness.

The dialogue continues at the heart of the movement. Visible through the caseback, the ratchet-wheel cover is coated with deep black Grand Feu enamel. Here again, the decorative touch is not added to the mechanism: it extends its construction and fully contributes to its identity.

The movement

The Monday Organica is a natural extension of the Renaud Tixier Monday. At the heart of this exclusive version is a patented mechanism that optimises the winding efficiency of micro-rotors by integrating a flywheel and an impulse spring nicknamed “the dancer”. Drawn from automotive kinetic recovery, the mechanism brings high-performance engineering down to the microscopic plane – transposed to the movement with absolute discipline and precision.

This architecture not only maximises the power reserve but also protects the movement thanks to a disengagement system in the event of impacts. Developed from the ground up around this singular breakthrough, Calibre RVI2023 embodies the core ethos of Manufacture Dominique Renaud: engineering the structure to serve the idea, never forcing an idea into an existing frame.

The art of materials

The Monday Organica is clad in platinum, featuring a 40.8 mm case with a decorated, hand-engraved profile, topped with a domed sapphire crystal enabling the light to glide over the material.

The solid gold dial is the heart of the timepiece: black Grand Feu enamelling, a technique that can be particularly tricky with this hue, is engraved on multiple levels and kiln-fired to become a miniature landscape: a mandala echoing the energy of the mechanism.

On the wrist, a hand-sewn black calfskin strap features grey topstitching picking up the dial design and the tones of the case. It is secured by a white gold pin buckle. Here, the material does not merely serve readability: it becomes a work of art in its own right.
